Right now Musician's Friend is having a sale on the PreSonus AudioBox USB, so I was wondering if anyone could share their opinions on it? What do you think of the mic pres and the overall quality? Thanks!

I have one. Not too bad as far as sound, but I couldn't get good performance out of it. I think the VSL versions have better performance. For sound, I didn't have an issue with it.

I have one (just used it tonight on a project as a matter of fact). Works great and I love to have it as a separate unit on my desk so I don't have to break down my 1818VSL (set up on my drum kit) for simple overdubs. I read the preamps are a step lower than the newer 22VSL preamps (I can't hear a difference). Also, know that it maxes out at 24/48 - the VSLs give you 24/96 - so need to keep that in mind if swapping from another project at a higher-than-48 resolution. I love my Audiobox USB a lot though. Great little unit, doesn't even need a separate (from USB) power supply!
