Opinions on my mixing job?

My friends and I recorded this song in the basement and I just finished it today. Let me know what you guys think of the mixing and "mastering"

Personally, I think its a bit ear piercing through my headphones on my ipod but I don't know how I can get it sounding bright otherwise. Any help would be much appreciated.

The high hat(?) in the right channel is a little too glassy loud. From the waveform and sound, you have compressed the hell out of this - leaving no dynamics at all -the break part with just 2 guitars is exact same volume as the heavier part after. Just my opinion, maybe that's what you wanted.

I think its a good song, well written one thing I would say to criticise was the repeating electric guitar riff which occurs mostly through the first half of the song - personally I would prefer it to sound a bit more natural, it doesn't sound obviously like a guitar. also, I would cut some high frequencies off the same guitar part because it was just a bit too stabby.

A bit too much compression on the drums and the hi-hat and crashes need to be a bit lower in the mix. The snare needs to come up in the mix a little and lose a bit of its smash sound and gain a bit of CRACK.
