Opinions on my drum sound?

Just wanted to know what people thought of the sound im getting when recording drums, and any advice you have that would possibly make them sound better. The biggest problem im guessing with the sound atm is the room, its a small 5.5 meter long by 2.3 meter wide bedroom with a 2.2 meter high ceiling and no acoustic treatment.

My latest drum recording can be found at

Sorry for the slopping drumming!

Mic used were:

Kick drum- AKG D112
Snare- Sm57
High Tom- Sennheiser e604
Low Tom- Sm57
Overheads- Rode NT1 and cheap Takstar pencil condensor (i need to upgrade these)
Outer Kick/front kit- Cheap JTS SM58 copy (thought Id throw it on as I had it spare, might work better on under snare???)

Cheers!

very nice

im new to the site and multiple mics ( i used to use a single mic for drums)
and i think your sound is good.
im going to try and get a clip up here soon.

anyways,
:D

good sound ,good luck

Your drums sound pretty ok solo'd, but you would be surprised how different drums sound in a mix from solo. The masking caused by other instruments really changes things. So it's tough to give you help without hearing them in the mix.

I've been working on a metal'ish mix recently and the drums sound relatively lackluster solo'd, but in the mix they sound pretty fantastic. For example--

(disclaimer: the snare and toms are augmented with samples at about the same volume as the original drum sounds)
