opinions on magix

has anyone used magix midi studio generation 6? is it any good?

Ive messed around with it and think its no good at all. Unless youre not building your own drum loops then its probably fine for that.

I guess I'm one of the very few that like it. I used a version long ago (before Acid existed) and got used to it then. So long as you have a good mouse :) I think it's great. It does what I want it to do, and I feel like I have more control than with Acid. To me, Acid is less natural, but that's probably because I'd already gotten used to Magix. I'm sure Acid's loops are better quality, but I never use canned loops anyway, I make my own. I have both and I only use Magix.
 
the question I have to ask is what are you using it for?....multitrack recording?....creating loops?......

for multitrack recording N-Track can't be beat in the bang for the buck dept.......

I only use Magix for looping. It's easiest for me to work with. After I've got the loops arranged and mixed, I usually bring it into a multi-track program (Cakewalk PA9) for vocals and any non-looped stuff.
