I played a hollow body model once, with flatwound strings and was just really please with the tone, through a Fender amp on clean.... it almost felt like there was a compressor in there it was so even toned and not as wimpy as a lot of cheaper guitars out there...

Vintage ones are great. The new ones, in my opinion, are largely crap using a vintage name. I currently play a Hagstrom 12, I've never played a better electric 12 and you're 99% certain to get a good neck even after 40 years because of the I-beam they put through the neck.

a little mom and po shop (one of the only ones left) carries them.... one of the guys that works there i've played some jobs with and he doesn't bullshit me cause he knows they dont carry anything i need... lol... any how i asked him about them once and he kinda lit up... when they told him they were picking up the line he was bummed... but says now that they are actually well built and pretty consistent from guitar to guitar.... he hasn't sold his PRS but likes them quite a bit...
