Recorded these drums using 2 overheads, one kick and one snare. This is my first (or second) try at recording drums, so I would like some opinions on it.

I tried placing it in a mix with guitar and bass, and I think it sounds quite ok. What do you think?

Well, *I* like it, but I don't exactly qualify as an expert, having only recorded guitar and voice on my own. :)

Anyone who actually knows something want to chip in?

No expert either....

I'm no expert either, but I'd say the kick needs work. I love the snare and OH's. Bass seems flat, no slap and I think is resonates to much. Needs more punch I guess, but thats just how I like my kicks. Again I am not a expert haha.

Thank you for the reply, guys.

I agree with the kick, it's not tight enough. I've been trying to tweak it, but haven't found the right way yet.

Most of us aren't experts, and I don't think you need to be one to judge if something sounds good or not. We aren't creating music just for experts to listen, are we? :) Thanx guys.

sounds great to me. of course the kick is a little weak but thats not too hard to fix. i thought the toms and snare sounded great. i was impressed with the balance of the toms in the mix considering they werent even miced. good job.
