Ok so i think ive found the computer i want. let me know what you think. Im going to be using it as the basis of my studio recording from a mixing board into this with a terratec sound card using some kind of program proabbly cubase. its 256ram but im going to upgrade it. the only thing im not sure about though is if the hard drive is 7200rpm. i emailed them but they didnt write back. thanks for your help

Hey Falopo -- New to recording, but not to PC's in the least, so I'd love to give you an opinion on that computer, but I don't think there's any link.
Let us know when you get some more info, I guess.

An integrated videocard that uses system memory (-> shared) seriously degrades the overall memory performance.
This is a typical budget system and therefore not really suited for recording, although it will probably work just fine for not too demanding homerecordists.

Yeah i guess i figured it wasnt the best computer, but its in my budget. i can only really spend at most 600 on a computer and this one seemed to have what i wanted. Is there any way i can change the video card so it doesnt degrade the memory? I am using this computer in my warehouse. im going to be recording bands with it. i really just want my recordings to sound good, and im hoping it will. so thanks for your input

Sure you can get video not to degrade your system memory. You can get just a plain pci or agp video card. I myself have a nvidia geforce 2 with 32mb of onboard memory. It is not the greatest card in the world, but will do fine for audio recording. I paid about $30 for mine. I would strongly reccommend Ebay because i use it all the time. Hope this helps.
