I was wondering if win98se 0r xp is better for the omni studio? also I keep hearing of people asking which soundcard works well with the omni studio, isn't the delta 66 enough? Why would you want two soundcards?

The omni isn't a soundcard, it's an optional breakout box with some extra features. It can be used with the Delta44 or 66.

Most often the omni is bundled with the Delta66 in the "omni studio" package.

It will work fine on either 98 or XP. I would go for XP, but that decision must be based not just on the soundcard, but the software you're going to use.

Question along that line...

Slackmaster-

I'm planning on buying a Mackie 1202 mixer and the Delta 44 card so I can start recording (2 guitars and 2 vocals). Is it worth getting the "Omni studio" in addition?
Thanks.

Mike

With the 1202 I don't think there's any real reason to get the omni, unless you need a couple extra mic pres. (you can access all 4 mic pre's seperately on the 1202 using the channel inserts)

Thanks. Which is better for recording 2 guitars and 2 vocals in your opinion: (1) the omni studio with a delta card or (2) a delta card with a mixer? Also, is it true that the only difference between the 44 and the 66 is the number of inputs?
