Hey y'all,

Is there a difference between the "open" style 3-way Gibson-style switches and the "closed" or "sealed" style? See photos

The description for the closed one said "replacement for LP style guitars."

I'm just wondering if there is a big difference and what it is.

Thanks

They function the same but the sealed one would be harder to clean when it eventually becomes corroded/dusty.

plus in a guitar even the non-sealed one is effectively 'sealed' from dust and such since it's inside a closed cavity.
