this is my band. can i have your guy views on the material. not nessarlily the drumming. im sloppy in places. it was recored with a MXL992 (condensor mic) in a corner of my room. not intended as a demo. just a quick thing i set up. only guitar and drums. what do you think of the songs? we're kinda jammin/inprovising as we go along. but we had a rough idea of the way the track was ordererd. thanks guys.

btw no getting all mixy on me. i posted it in the dragons cave forum earlier because i want opinions on the music and composition - not the mixing and recording technique. like i said before - mxl992 in a room. guitar needs to be turned up. it was intended for the singer to write some vocals over it quickly and the bassist to write a bass part. thats also why there are no vox or bass.

That could be cool. I liked "Tap" the best from the sketches. Now get to work and start recording these for real, lol.
 
recording starts soon. few weeks once we've finished all the songs and decided on the featured songs. any other comments?
 
Man it's really hard to tell much from the samples. I think Epic will be a cool tune with some good vocals. I know you said that your drumming was wacked, but just sit there a little. Way too busy on the drums. All the cymbal rolls and stuf are killin' me. Some Bass guitar would likely help you tie up the drums too. When you get some tracks down, let us check em out again. Sounds like some good foundations. Hard to tell much from the recordings as you know. "Bitch" is a little different. I will like to hear that one once recorded. Let us know when they are done.

Next time turn the guitar up more or put it closer to the mic... it's so faint it makes it really hard to get a good feel for what's going on. Also, without vocals there's really nothing to say about the songs, as the vocal melody is what will make or break it.
 
there are vocal tracks on two of the tracks on there - mellow and bitch.
