Wasn't thrilled about "Pretty mouth" but I like "Clementine".
I feel, however, that the guitar and vocal on both are good, just right. I'm probably a lousy judge on the recording aspects of a song; I often marvel at the comments about frequencies and scooped mids and woofy kicks and stuff because I just can't hear any of that ! I gauge songs on whether or not I like them and generally, I'm happy to accept what the artist presents. Even if I was able to think of changes that I'd make, whether they'd actually be an improvement is something only a brave bookie would take bets on.
I would never have known that mismatched mics were used or anything like that. On 'Clementine' I particularly like the guitar and the melody. It reminds me of Melanie in her quietly intense moments (like "The Citiest people").

Pretty Mouth. Very good song & incredible voice. I rather like it as is. I think polish will be nice and separate tracking useful BUT this sounds real.
Well performed & captured.
I spend hours searching for live performances of fav tunes by my fav performers in the hope of finding something that matches this sort of honesty.

Man, she is good. I'm a firm believer in less is more. I love what you have.

These are really pretty tunes - I think it's a great skill to be able to hold the attention with just a voice and guitar, and her voice sounds so vulnerable. Clementine is the stronger one for me too.
