One Take Wonder

Hi People,

me again.

This is what I call a utility recording. I was going to play this song at church and needed to teach it to some other people... therefore I threw it together one morning before work.... all in 20 minutes which is a record for me. I was so impressed with the results I thought I'd share it with others.

I'd appreciate any comments

very cool song......the recording for what it is seems well done.....

when the chorus comes in with "we are your children" all I can think of hearing is a choir of kids doing the BG vocals.....if not on all the choruses, at least the ones that comes in at 2:50.........

some swelling strings in the verses would be cool........and some other instrumentation in the choruses to help it lift......

very good song......it deserves more production.......

I think it's sickening. I can't believe anyone would create such hateful music, and have kids of all people, sing it blindly.

you know, I'm not sure, but I thought this was supposed to be a clinic. This kind of statement to me is just hurtfull and rude!!!!!
Keep your comments to yourself if you don't have something constructive to say!

Thanks Gidge ... again I kind of agree. But I'm not going to start any more major productions before I go to the UK ... the house is a war zone !

However if you wanted to have a crack at it ... be my guest.

I loved it! In fact I'd like to cover it....... With your permission of course! I'd have to yank that capo off though. It's funny your voice sounds a lot like we could be brothers....guess we are in a way, huh? Well done!

???????:confused: I wasnt telling people to avoid you okobd.LOL...your posts sounds like you thought I was talking to you.I quoted "aphex" in my post,NOT you.;)
 
I can hear this working well. Were you intending to have the kids come in during the chorus? It'll make the parents cry I'm sure (and I mean tears of joy). That chorus is just very pretty.

I don't know if the kids you're intending to teach are capable of three part harmony. But man that would sound terrific if they could pull it off.
 
pretty nice song.

THe phrase "to bring us safely home, it is your grace that will lead us to your own, it is your grace that leads us safely home"
is really beautiful melodically.

The voice sounds good. I think it will be even better if you tried singing a few notes lower.

Aphex is really becoming a problem.

He insulted me in the Guitars and Basses forum. He has 8 posts total and over 1/2 of those have been insulting to one person or another.

Is it possible to ban/delete Aphex?
That would be much appreciated.

You don't have to agree with me Aphex, but don't insult me or other people or you'll get a LOT of people in here pissed off.

It is very obvious that you don't want to learn about recording because if you did, you wouldn't be burning bridges with people that would overwise be glad to help you.

Just a quick reply ... I'll try and reply in detail to each of you later... I have all day seminars at work unfortunately (boring) :(

I'm performing this song at church on sunday and already have a bass player and 1 female backing singer that I might invite to record as well.

No worries, Kramer I knew you weren't talking to me, I just thought the point you made about ignoring the comment was probably the best thing to do, and was explaining why I chose to not do what I should've.
Sounds like we were on the same page and just didn't know it.
Anyway, sorry for any confusion.

The song is pretty cool and the guitar sounds real nice. I would've worked on the sound of the vocal track a little more with EQ and Reverb and as Gidge pointed out, the song could benefit from more production, but in all, it's a really cool tune.
