Here is a link to a song I recorded on my Korg D8 in my kitchen. I used Doggiebox for the drum parts. Let me know what you guys think.

Pretty cool, I really like the feel of the song, has a good vibe. The melodies in the background add a lot to the atmosphere. The vocal sounds like it could use some compression just because some parts drop out a bit. Keep up the good work - Jason

Nice, clean tones there. Vocals are very clean. I like it. Slight melonchaly feel. (if that's how you spell it.)
Good job. How'd you do the vocals? (mic, preamp, effects ets....)
Ed

Everything was done on the Korg D8 hard disc recorder. I just used a 58 for the vocals with some compression (off the unit) and a bit of 'verb man.

I am a Youth worker and we were awarded £20,000 to build a small project studio (and pay my wages to work in it), so I'm looking foward to recording somewhere a little bigger than my kitchen.

Thanks for listening
ciao.

Not bad man. Good luck with building the studio. Where is it going to be situated as im from these parts?

this sounds good for a quentin taratino film

my roommate and I totally dig this song. it has nice mellow feel to it. the percussion is amazing, considering it isn't real. and the vocals are a definite plus. would love to hear more.

Eat your dinner in the front room....Im busy mixing up dessert!!!!
Hey great job.....like your vocals, but in certain parts you faded out...Reminds me of a song played in a movie where the guy has just lost his girl , and he is driving down a deserted hwy, he slowly smiles cause he realizes she's not worth it anyway, but he did have a great time...moving on to new and better things...and the pic ends..... :D

I really dig that man, your voice is great. The melodies in the background are really cool, keep it up.

Poster of the month! Heh heh. I like this song, too.

I also like the drumming for the reason that it doesn't try to stand out, but has enough of a creative twist to be interesting (if that makes sense). You've got a great sense of mixing volume, spaces, etc.

Kind of an early Radio Head feel to it. Keep us posted on anything else you feel like sharing that you are working on. Thanks.

Amazing. I wish I could get such full, clean sound in my recordings. How'd you mic that acoustic??? I'd really like to try and immitate it :-)

great song dude. The one main problem I have with the song is the vocals. This song just screams for a pure, rich sounding vocal track that meshes it all together while keeping the musical atmosphere true. I really dig the song, though. great job with the instrumentation. Tweak that vocal track and give us a take 2!

Hey, I'll try and fix the vocals. The acoustic is mic'd with a poxy 58 just left of the sound hole, but it's a really good guitar. It's double tracked as well and panned left and right. I always double track my main rhythm guitar with the exact same sound and pan it hard left and hard right, then bounce it to a stereo track and eq it as a whole.

I am going to re record the song when I my new studio is finished being built in a couple of weeks so I'll post a mix.

Thanks for all the feedback.

Is it your personal studio or one for commercial use?

very cool tune, but given the feel of it, there is one high lead guitar part that comes and goes througout the song that sounds just a little too much like the lead part of Paranoid Android (right before the big 'change up' where the song starts rocking).

It was hard for me not to hear Paranoid Android while listening to your tune because of that lead. Otherwise, though, excellent songwriting, recording, and mixing.
