Let me know what you think. Little ditty I threw together to perfect some skills I learned on this board.

I used:

Fender Strat
No name 6 string
P.O.S. Bass (been with me forever)
POD 2.0
Shure 58
Boss DR-3 Drums
Yamaha MG 12-4 Mixer with Pre's

Mixed in Samplitude
Mastered with T-Racks( I know...I know ...:( )

All direct in to a Sound Blaster Live one stereo track at a time building on the drum track.

This is a re-mix with changes suggested here a few weeks ago.

Thanks, I hope I am getting a little better.

Hey bro............

I vaguely remember this song.
I KNOW it didn't sound this good before.
I think the vocal may be too up front in this mix.
You are on the right track though.

Thanks...

I feel like I have a little grasp anyway now. For me the kick is the recording...you know making something out of nothing. From an idea to drivin around listening to your own stuff...always tweaking and tinkering with sound and ideas.

I used to record on a little 4 track cassette. I kept all the tapes. It seems like I was in a frenzy for a few years to get it all down. Now I can go back and Play with all those songs and maybe weed some out.

My band AKA had a local hit here in the Pacific Northwest with a song I wrote called "Rainy night in Seattle". It was recorded with a mobile in the back of a van. He actually did a great job for it being the 80's and all. If anyone cares I could rip it and post it...or maybe I'll just re-do it and play all the instruments the way I want them.

Ain't computers grand !!!!!

Thanks for the feedback

Rick

(I agree... the vocals are 2 up front)

Wow that's a loud mix.

Sounds pretty good. The vocals could come down at least 3dB.
