Nakatira

That Norwegian Bastard
This is an old track, wich I`ve always thought needed to be recorded agian on proper equipment.

Not looking for to much production crtitcs, but song critics are apreciated.

Ps I know I should have had a popfilter back then :D

So if you can find the time to listen to this track please critisize.

ps I`m still going for a 70`s rock`n roller.

cheers :)

Pretty cool song. I hear Bowie/Mott the Hoople in the verses. I'm not crazy about the falsetto vocal part. If possible, I can hear you belting that part out with your Ian Gillan voice. Once again, you have a Tull element in a song. I can't put my finger on it, but it's there. I like your imagination and your ideas. I can just imagine how good this will be re-done now.

Thanks man, I was trying to get an Easy rider american feel to the verses, in the chorus I was going for a Yes harmony in the falsetto, the only thing is that the falsettos are bad, but any way the idea was to funk it up and go into yes land.

and you`ve hit the bulls eye on my tull influence, after thick as a brick I knever was the same :)

thanks man, for your suport and comments :)

Very 70's sounding. Cool how you sang to some of the melody lines. This puts one of the Sabbath videos in my mind....I think Paranoid...where Ozzy is singing, and the closeups have all the funny colors in the background. Very phsychodelic. Image makes no sense, but fits the tune.
Anyway, you captured the vibe very well, Naka. Cool tunage...

Thanks Dogman, allways a treat reading your reviews man.
Your`e positive feedback mean a lot and gives a lot.

The tunage is just a regular tunage, but it starts with an open E in the 12 fret, so thats why it sound tuned.
At the time, I had never tuned a guitar exept in the standard way, not even a dropped E to D.

I was also messing around with the percussion parts on midi drums, so I used all kinds of wierd stuff in the funky part.

thanks a lot both Rami and Dogman. :)

Hi

Very good song and very original. The bass is really psychedelic. I also like the whistling at 2:48, that's well thought.

Nice work.

Hey Nak, another great 70s stylish tune here man :)
I went up to a canyon last night and had the chance to throw this on my mp3 player beforehand, so I got to listen to this in style. The phsychodelic feel of the tune was very fitting too.

Yeah, this whole song has kind of spacey feel. It sounds like you did a lot work with the stereo field. It sounds like you have two slightly different versions of your vocals coming out of each speaker. Cool sound!

Something just doesn't fit right for me at 1:50, I think that section could rock a bit more. Maybe some more intense or higher vocals with that riff would sound cool

I actually dig the little bits of falsetto thrown in there at 2:00. Its a cool change of pace, back and forth with the regular vocals. Then later in the song around 5:00 I don't like them quite as much, maybe you changed up the structure between falsetto/regular somewhat.

The whistling is out of time with the other instruments and needs more punch (just kidding :p :p )

Enjoyable listen man. Keep up the good work and stay in the 70s!! You rock at that stuff ;)

Very nice song Nak! I liked the layered guitars at the beginning. Very spacey and almost rock opera-esque. Keep it up, this song is awesome!!

I really like the production/sound of your music and this is no exception! This one kinda reminds me of Uriah Heep circa "Demons And Wizards"..your mixes are real clear and powerful...wish I could do that  !This rocks ...great job as usual!!

p.s. still interested in that "Tie Your Mother Down" colab?Im just about done with the music...

Man this is the second time someone pointed out my influence by Uriah Heep, and "Deamons and wizzard" how cool is that  :D .
thanks man, I`m a huge fan of Uriah Heep, my favorite record of the is Look at yourself.

I`ve never seen the resemblance myself, But I take it as a huge compliment man, thanks a lot.

on the coalab, I`m very intrested indeed.
I`m going on a vacation now on monday, and I wouldnt be back in musical surroundings untill the end of Nov.
But after that I`m really down with trying , if your still intrested?

thanks man for that thorough review, really enjoyed it.
first of all I`m glad you liked the song.
It has its glitches, and ill choices, but it was a fun jam.

I was out there at that time, listening to way to much J-Tull :D

I agree with you on your critics, theire spot on, the song need some tightening, and more planned playing.
Like the harmony in the intro, it was just recorded in one take, no rehearsing the harmonies first, just press rec :D ...
Kinda silly, I do that way to often.. :)

thanks man, I tried to go for that Easy Rider vibe, so the spacy stuff must come from way to many times of watching, and dreaming of that movie...

man I need to get my ass to the states :D

Interesting song... enjoyed it. I like the harmony right at 1:40... kind of Spanish sounding for a few seconds. AT 3:15 there's a great passage with the two, no wait.... three, gtr parts. At 5:14 the doubling of the vox w/the low guitar line is very effective. Some nice vocal harmonies shortly after that. Ending's a little abrupt maybe.

Cool, man I`m glad you liked it...
Intresting refference on the spanish stuff, never thought of that, but I have to agree.
at the solo stuff the 3guitar part, I`m as allways very influenced By Brian May.

The abrupt ending, was caused by a writers block :D

Then let the dance off begin! :D  :D You thought you were going to win that easy, well you were wrong! We'll just see if Dogman hits the dance floor too.
