Rock Steady
I was sittin in the studio by myself and a lil reflection came on pretty strong, so I put it down. I may get a couple of the guys over and do something with it, or else we may do something with it with vocals. Jus thought I`d share something real simple with you . It may be a lil harsh since I didnt do much manicure to the eq.

Say Toki,
Great start on a minor blues!!! My suggestion would be to write some heartbreaking lyrics about the way things were (perhaps) and add some guit licks ala Albert King. I realise that the drums are probably scratch but you might want to try more of a sixteenth note pattern on a better sounding hi-hat with a deep fat snare sound with a long verb maybe even timed to the BPMs.
un saludo,

Thanks jordokid. Yes it's a simple minor 1-4-5 with no bridge and not a real attmpt at recording, just messing around, not really meant at the time to be a song, just a simple feeling I had scattered between the holes and the notes. I may develop it, spill some lyrics into it and get a guitar player and real piano player to work in it. Now where`s Boz.....? :)

this will make a nice soundtrack for the early 90's movies. Don't ask me why, but that's the picture that came to my mind when listening to this. Was it intended to be a movie score or? I don't think there is any obvious eq problem by the way.

Feels very Floydy Kenny. I have no problem with that at all. It should be a lot of fun to sing on! Good ideas there...

soooooothing. Not crazy about the snare sample, but you're a wonderful human being, lol.

Hi Ken,

Oooohhhh yeah...can hear some hearbreaking blues sangin' in there.

Nice stuff man. As ususal!!! :)

I really, really, like this. Man, put some words to this and you've got a killer track.

Kenny - I can only repeat what I've said before, you do the best beds this side of Serta. :)

I hear a little Journey in this one.

You need to get together with some of these guys and make some of this stuff into real songs. And whenever you need a tamborene, I'm there for you babe.

hey...

sorry i didn't really like it. maybe it's not my style but it sounded very cheesy to me. the drums and the synth in the background, it made it sound very 80s. like i could imagine it at the end of some cheesy 80s movie when the credits show up.

and i think it went on for a little too long and it really needs some vocals or something else. because the song to me didn't seem to be moving. it would have been good for some dynamical changes or something.

overall, you've gotten some good reviews aboutthis track so maybe it's just my own personal preferences but unfortunately i did not like the song.

sorry :(

Thanks guys, it was just a really quick and simple expression of a feelin I had.

Tom, I think the basic theme of this may show up again but bigger, actually I know it will. Thanks.

Chris, ahhh... you just want me for me for money and fast cars? lol, yew Lush!

A1, I guess I was just plinkin along with a story goin on in the head. So i guess that might qualify for "sound track in the ruff" :)

Jag', yep, bout like the San Andreas fault line. Smoothed over the yrs, but and occasional ghosty shake there still.

HevyD, I'd love to do some work with you too man. Let`s get something goin on... this ones kinda tied up, but the well is deep. I`ll set one up and leave the holes for you to do a real squaller.. I`ll holler at you

Lynx, it is in another shop now with a couple of folks messin around with it. I`m also gettin it ready for a collab with somebody here now. We`ll have something of it to post soon hopefully.
Im` redoing it with real bass and decent instruments for the collab.

Dach, thanks. I appreciate that. I can scratch an idea out occasionaly, not real pretty, basic, but surely sincere.

sandwiches, I do appreciate your sincerity and candor. I wouldnt care much for it either as a sonic presentation :). It`s just a sketch of a feeling, made in the sand with a stick. The patches were cheesy and midi, all done without me even moving out of my chair for a least 15 minutes, hehehe. Seriously, I did it just so I wouldnt forget the meat of it. Thanks for listening.
