I got that much but that only removes the XLR jack right? Is there a way to check out the innards of the mic?

On a 421, remove the metal plate near the XLR connector, and take the screw underneath out. The XLR connector assembly pops out. If you look inside, you see a glob of silicone inside the end of the cavity. If you cut that glob away, you'll find a 7mm bolt, which, when removed, lets the mike come apart.

Once you find a void on the inside of the shaft, you will find it a handy place to hide your weed.:)
