I hoping to find a mic that will accommodate two setups:

The first will be filming a host against a green screen. I need to pickup what they'll be saying clearly, as if they were talking into a wireless mic.

But...

I also need a mic that I can utilize at a desktop computer where the host can sit down and record voice overs and still sound as if they were all recorded in the same space.

Is there a all-in-one style mic that can accommodate this type of set up?

Thanks!

It depends on the space in question. If you need to reject a lot of the ambiance? And/or mimic it if the green screen option is a bit noisy.

I've been recommended a Lavalier Mic. Any thoughts on a good one?

Is there such a thing? A good lavalier. Sometimes it's the only option, because you need proximity to balance the source to all other sounds in range. Not the only option. But if the green screen content is going to be dancing and talking while facing away from the mic / camera and other things, not much choice. Or just go overboard with a lav, boom, shotgun, and array for ambiance. Use the one that works, and/or mix to satisfaction. Or dump them all and do voice over in post.
