old time stripped down acousticness

First my take on the positives. The sonority of the guitar is excellent. No Boominess; gets just a little edgy when you play harder but nothing that couldn't be EQ'd and smoothed with a little reverb. Sonority of the vocal is excellent too. Did you record this with just one mic?

My suggestions: tune the guitar carefully before tracking. Use an electronic tuner. You may find that if the gtr's perfectly in tune (the high stings were flat) it'll be easier to sing with accurate intonation. The vocals were sliding in pitch a lot.

guitar sound is very cool. I'm not crazy about the vocal phrasing. a little boring to my ears. just my opinion though.

Hook, it could be that your vocals are more clear and enunciated in the room than what the mic's picking up. Or it could be that you're hearing them, as you sing, a certain way but they're not really coming out that way (common problem when we sing). Dunno, but since you're getting such a good sound it'd be worth it to figure out how to get your vocals to sound clear and understandable in the final mix.

what i mean when i say kind of boring: the vocal line is only 2 notes repeated throughout the whole song......it does'nt change with the chords at all. maybe you could record the rhythm guitar, play around on guitar to find some interesting melody notes to sing, then go back and sing those notes while you play the rhythm.

also, it does'nt sound like you are using your natural voice, kinda cartoonish. like I said before though, just my opinion.

good luck.
