70's Les Paul Black Beauty and 55/74 Les Paul Special Edition. That 8 X 10 cab was pretty sweet too...

I bought a mid 70's Les Paul Deluxe Goldtop for $550, which I traded a couple of years later to my guitar teacher for the Les Paul Special. The Les Paul Special was stolen along with a White Strat from my apt in '81. The Black Beauty I sold as I was short of money a few years later. I replaced the Strat, bought a Pacer Imperial and an EC Strat which is a fairly good set. I'd like to buy another Black Beauty but it's hard to justify at $3000. when I have a house and family that always needs attention... Maybe someday....

A good we are stating over again.

1972 SG Standard,Walnut color gloss finish. I purchased it new. Loved that guitar.

My first Les Paul. '72 20th Anniversary Custom Black Beauty. Sold it for $600 in 1988. DOH! Sold a Musicman 130 212HD with it for $300. DOH! DOH!

I can empathize. When I graduated from high school back in 1978 my dad bought me a brand new Gibson ES-345TD. Gorgeous guitar, one I'd lusted after for years. I loved that guitar. Two years later some d-bag broke into my apartment and stole it.

I still have the original warranty card with the serial number in my wallet. I keep wondering if some day I might come across it!

I had a 58 or 59 Black ES 335 that was stolen back when i still played gtr, we had a bond and loosing her was one reason for switched focus on bass

'77 RD Artist Bass- loved the neck, electronics and sound but never really got comfy with the body shape traded it for

'76 Sunburst Ripper man I loved that bass for years and years, traded it even for an Alembic Distillate 32" bass that was a dream the didn't last.

My only Gibson these days is a G-3 bass that is my secret weapon, that bass is a total tonal chameleon.
