I tracked all the instruments to mono tracks and was a little concerned about getting too radical with the panning and having it wind up sounding like an old 60's recording where you hear on thing way over on the left and the other way over on the right,

It doesnt have to be extreme panning like those 50's and 60's records....just pan things enough to achieve seperation.....a little to the left....a little to the right...The stereo field will love it.;)

The only extreme panning I ever do is when I double parts like with rhythym guitars etc....10 and 2 oclock are plenty enough of a pan for a lead instrument.

Very cool. I thought you captured exactly the feel of Delbert Mc Clintons stuff. It has a kinda loose feel to it. Not sloppy, but like its just a good ol' jam. You guys really pulled that off. Really enjoyed it.

Twist

Very nice clean recording....especially the way you did it! Very nice job. I'm sure you guys are pretty succesful.

Thanks for the advice,Kramer, thanks for the listens and compliments twist and Sydfan and everyone. It is a big help to be able to get feedback from so many ears and so many different systems.

Successful? I don't know about that, especially from a monetary perspective right now,but we are having a major amount of fun with this group and that is worth more than money to me.

Have a great day!

sorry about the bandwidth thing,Toki,I bought some more and kicked the viagra ads of my pages,so hopefully it won't have that problem again.

:D :D :D

twas a pleasure listening to it. I love that particular genre. The playing and the mix was clean as a whistle, and the seasoning was very evident. The placement has already been mentioned, but with a little more spread... the counterythyms everybody is playing so well would be awesome spread all the way across the field from goalpost to goalpost.
I bet yall can bring a sweat on "Every time I roll the Dice".

Thanks,Toki

Glad you stopped back to listen. Yep,"Every Time I Roll" is on our list. I am planning to add it to our little demo album sooner or later. I sing lead on that one,so it might be a little scary

Have a good one!

D/l this night before last and just now got a chance to listen. Great singing on this cat! The mix sounds fantastic here dude, at least I think so. Loved the harp playing..its right there man. Horns sounded pretty good..but maybe over the top, for me anyway. Piano was jammin real good! Really great cover man, bet ya'll get a great crowd everytime.

Thanks for the review,David. I gave it another listen today after putting it down for awhile and agree the horns are a bit hot most of the time and I want to adjust the panning etc. Funny how things sound different after you put it away for a couple days.

Peace!

"Why me"

I wish I had a dollar for everytime I asked that question.. :D

good listen! the mix has been covered by the others.. I thought the horns were a bit hot in a few parts.. not all the time though, just in a few parts.. I was listening to this and smiling all the way through.. nice harp.. I was missing some guitar leads, but I always say stuff like that.. :)

nice job! That was a fast download too.. especially for a 192 mp3.. hmmm..

Thanks for the listen and feedback,B.

I really appreciate it. I am going to remix this soon, but my wife says I have to fix the kitchen plumbing before I do anything else.

:( :( :(

Peace.........
