old beaten gibson V

my older brother has had this old US Gibson Explorer (~79-80ish)
laying around, for years and years.

it's kinda messed up, but it's all there.

what would something like that bring or anyone interested
in piece parts? any links?

i was thinking the pickups and things would be worth something.

sorry no picture...he doesn't have a computer. I'm just trying
to help him get something for it and the Gibsons just going to waste
laying in the basement.
 
How beat is it? If it's still playable, I'd consider it. I also am not sure if I'd be able to afford it.. as I don't know how much they're worth or whatever.
 
Yes describe the condition. Unfortunately, that year pickups and electronics are some of the not best for Gibson in general. I got about $40 for a set of 70's SG pickups and was glad to get it. But unless the body is snapped or something that horrible, there are guys out there who can probably restore it, at least to a point.

i'll update on Gibson stuff.

yeah answered some PM's....i apologize not sure if its V or a Explorer.
We just talked last night and i think it's in poor shape...but as mentioned,
the pickups and whatever...maybe someone somewhere who needs
that oddity part or wants the pickups to make a DUufinatorValveSpace AGe
Electronic Nose HAir simulator.

i called him and waiting more details. should have done this first.
 
If you can get some pictures, that would be super. The paint job won't bother me.. if the neck is still cool and all. I'll definitely consider it.

Its a V. Gibson USA.
Neck broken.
Has a case.

All in poor condition...but bro wanted some recording sht and
i thought sell it, piece parts...

someone may be looking for that Pickup or swith or pickguard.

he doesn't have computers and pictures to download.

How much?

Hard or soft shell case?

Binding and inlays on the neck, or just dots?

Binding on body or just plain paint?

Solid color or some sort of burst color?

Serial #?

great..gibson needing a doctor or donating parts!

i'll find out more but my bro sometimes doesn't move as
quick as i'd like...you see he is busy (reading comics and watching TV and recording)...and i never would have had a
Gibson laying around in the basement for 5-10years!!even broken.

i trade and move sht usually to upgrade or try something else,
which is what he was wanting to do.

it does have a Gibson case too...i remember that.
