Oktavamod MK-219PE sample

Premium electronics mod into SCA A12 into the box. No EQ's or anything, but some reverb. This was done last night and is by far not finished, as its barely started, but the guy did some vocals with it so I thought I'd post the results. I think the vocals sound great, even though he's a little rough around the edges.

He seemed like a cool guy, and for about $400 I got a mic that I like better than the Soundeluxe U195. So far at least. This mic is smooth and totally unsibilant, and natural. Killer deal by all accounts. Really.

I had a 319 laying around that I just performed all the mods he listed except the electronics upgrade. I removed the resonator plates and bypassed the pad and roll off switchs and shortened the leads from the capsule to the circuit board conciderably. So far so good. I'm going to play around with it and see how I like it tonight.

I've got a 219 with the pe mod too. I love the fidelity of it recording mandolin. Great smooth high end. It's my new favorite mic.

I'm kind of digging it. I think the difference is really in the electronics, you guys should just send the thing to him and have it done up right.
