I am feeling kind of stupid, but I can't seem to find anywhere online to buy Oktava mics. Must be there but the sites I use don't have them. Any link would be appreciated.

This is really weird. I used to be able to find Oktava all over the place, notably at Musicians Friend. So I went looking. Looks like the marketing people futzed up big time, couldn't find any majors carrying them when I search for Oktava on Google. Finally, I found this link to a Musicians Friend associate that had a MK-319 for $80, supposedly in stock. Now, when I went to MF direct and looked for oktava, nothing. But when I went through this associate, voila, there it was on MF! Discontinued!

What happened to Oktava!? Can anybody fill in the blanks and explain what's going on?

Just a heads up--I called the Sound Room (www.oktava.com and www.sound-room.com) the other day and was told that due to a death at the company, they weren't taking any orders and didn't seem to know if they would be any time soon.

(Not to further hijack this thread, but if anyone else knows where I can get a shock mount and windscreen for a 012, I'd appreciate it)

I just don't get it - the MC012 is listed as £499 here in the UK!
It's just not fair.
It'd be cheaper to fly over to the States & buy one.

I don't think anybody really knows what's going on with Oktava, but the only inventory is at Guitar Center, isn't available on line, and the inventory that's on hand is quite variable. I know the Natick, Massachusetts GC still has pretty much the entire line in stock. Try 508-655-6525, ask for Pro Audio, and see if they'll ship to you.-Richie
