has anyone ordered these from there successfully and are they a-okay?
 
best place to get em for quality, not the best price but worth it to be sure it is what it is...
 
I just bought 2 from a guy in New York. He says they are authentic Russians and thats the risk I am willing to take for 225 bucks. But it would be nice to know for sure.

Some things to note re the pics and info in the above link.........:

Genuine Russian mics CAN have the ASM on them, they CAN be labelled either MK or MC, they CAN have either "B" or "v" in the name Oktava. Even the basic set includes the 10dB pad, the capsule and the (spring) metal clip.

The Chinese mics come in a generic case with handle (see pics), they DON'T have the 10dB pad and use a generic clip, the biggest differences are in the mic design/build and this is clearly illustrated at the above link.

The first thing to look for (externally) are the Phillips head screws and the psuedo seam towards the lower end of the mic body which will indicate a Chinese manufactured mic.

is there a reason for me to get the -10db pads? I am already getting an rnp and I also have a -20db pad on my motu 8pre.

I am thinking of just getting the one capsule cardioid pair. any reason to invest in all three?

The omni caps can come in handy. But you can get those later.
 
I have never ordered from internet stores before, just ebay. I am about to spend 950 bucks at oktava.com. has anyone bought anything from them? I don't know if I'm just paranoid, but I would like to hear someone they bought stuff from that website successfully.
 
If that's what youwant, the price is in the ballpark and the place is reputable..
