It's what I call a dark sounding mic and it can work well for some vocals and suck on others... I wouldn't want it as my only mic but it could help round-out a mic collection.

On this one I agree with DJL, with this one caveat- They don't all sound the same, or even close. Mine is dark, also, like DJL's, but there are some that are brighter, a lot brighter. All in all, though, it's one of the best $99 I've spent. The thing has been outstanding on certain backing female vocals, and as an auxiliary percussion mic.-Richie
