I know that I can get either one of these for similar prices. I know that both of them serve a different purpose. But I don't know which one will serve my purpose better. Right now, I have a Shure SM58 and an Oktave MK219. My purpose, at this moment, is to mic our church piano. But other purposes would be to mic my acoustic guitar, guitar amp, and other applications. So, my question is this: What would serve my purposes better? Thanks.

Of course the answer is both! :) Not sure about the piano(probably the Okatava) but the MC012 is better for acoustic guitar, the SM57 is better for miking amps. The 57 is pretty close to the 68 that you already have. If I were you I might go for the Oktava. I picked up a 2nd one for $75 today at Guitar Center.

Both your SM58 and MK219 are excellent on electric guitar cabinets. For the piano and acoustic guitar the MC012 would be the better choice. Small diaphram condensers are good at picking up the high frequency details of an acoustic guitar and they sound more "open" than a SM-57/58.

Does it matter if it's for live or recording? Thanks again!
