Oktava in the UK?

hey,

i was just a-wondering how easy people in the UK have found it to get hold of the Oktava MK012 microphone... i've found it on one website, who have said they can rarely ship it as soon as the order comes in, and have to sometimes wait 2 weeks for them to get hold of one... (plus the whole website was pretty unclear about what you were actually buying...)

does anyone have any suggestions on how i could get one? although not every website had them, i found it easy enough to buy my SP B1... which i believe is another 'mainly american microphone' ? :confused:

anyway, anyone got any suggestions?

No probs, trying to get gear in this country can be a pain in the arse.

the prices are rediculous sometimes! the price differences between here and america are absolutely insane. i really dont understand why there is such a massive difference...

anyway, ordering from the continent might be a bit better.

try dv247.com but expect to pay up to £200 for a matched pair with a single set of capsules. Better to befriend someone in the USA and get them to send them over marked "GIFT" on the customs slip with a value of no more than $50

You're paying for import tax, it has nothing to do with Octava. Sad but true.

On a higher note the studio project C4s ship in matched pairs with 3 capsules for the same price in the UK from the same website
