Several people have said they get errors about the need for codecs when trying to play my mp3s. That means I'm not making standard mp3 files. So how do I do it?

I'm using Windows XP HE and Cakewalk v9 to export to mp3 at 128kbps. They play fine on my players, WMP 10.0, Winamp 5.1 and Neromix 1.2212.

They were recorded 24-bit 44.1kHz. For a trial mix, I change two settings, the file bit depth and the driver bit depth to 16, dither to 16 bit, save as new file, then export to wav and mp3 from there.

Other than the sampling rate, none of the players offer up any more technical info about the file. What else is there to know?

Plays fine for me man. Find out what player is having trouble. I've noticed that I can encode something as MP3Pro, and some stuff doesn't like it. I think it has some text at teh beginning that makes things think it is not an mp3. But yours seems fine at my end....
