Well, I understand now that unless you have a professional good sized vocal booth, it can be counter productive.
So, instead of using my closet for tracking vocals, I'm going to use it to isolate guitars and basses while tracking, to not get as much as a natural reverb. Cause I play technical metal and I want my guitars sounding tight.
But this leaves me with no where and no isolation for vocals.
I don't have any treatment, and now I'm just left with a square room, what do I do?

room treatment?

this is pretty much covered in every 2nd or 3rd topic here.

your topic "12x12 space" is still at the top of the page, and you had these questions answered there.
theres really no need for this topic.

search google and HR for...

basstraps, broadband absorbers, diffusers, acoustics, baffles, gobos, studio treatment

when you researched them enough, your going to have build the stuff yourself.

once youve built the panels or if you need help with building the panels come back and ask some questions.

when youve got enough panels and bass traps done too treat your room, your next question will most likely be, where should i place my panels and traps around the room.

well bass traps go in the corners first off, but they can go other places too.

and to place any other treatment ideas your going to have.

you need to post some pictures of your studio, then people can give you some better advice.
a square room can really still be any number of shapes and sizes, so giving you acoustical advice from this standpoint can only ever be a ball park figure.
