Just another guy, really.
Maybe my other post was too restrictive. So, I'll expand. Let 'er rip!

(crickets chirping, again...)

Come on, SOMEBODY'S gotta have some experience with 'em.

I bought a Coronet with a pair and they were terrible.I switched them out with Seymour Duncans and now it's one of my favorite guitars,Prior to reading this post the PUs in my guitar were the only time I've ever heard of OBLs so I assumed they were an off brand.

The Coronet had both a single coil and a humbucker and both lacked volume and definition.

In response to your request. I got nothing educational to say. But here it is "I got nthin to say". at least nothing helpful. Bill Lawrence has made cool p/us in the past and in the present operates as a going concern.

Epiphone has an Osama Bin Laden guitar ?????

There is a OBL&RS guitar by Daisy Rock though---Osama is promising Simmons the spanking of a lifetime for his wicked ways......Richard just can't wait!!!!!!!!!!

I used to use one on an acoustic when I played live in a duo group. Some twenty five years or so ago. Looks very similar to the sound hole pups in the picture but had no pole pieces in it.

At the time there weren't to many pick ups on the market for acoustic. That's why I purchased it. As for sound, it was a little to electric sounding to my mind. So we used it in conjunction with a mic and blended the signals. Eventually got some good tones that way, but still not great.

Have no clue about the newer ones. I'm sure they've gotten better over the years though. I know when I start looking for a new one I'll be looking at the Sunrise sound hole pups and then blending that with a mic. They sound really nice after hearing it a few times.
