Hi, I'm currently looking for a reasonalby high-quality, low-cost, low-feature card.
I don't need much by way of features because all I want to do with it is get spoken
word into the computer for editing (I really like n-track, BTW). I've got a decent
analog board for my mic to run through, though I will need to convert from XLR to
whatever the card takes somewhere along the line.
The computer I'm using is a PII 266MHz with 64MB RAM and a 6 gig hard drive,
though only about 2 gigs dedicated to audio. I know it's not much to start with,
but I'm not trying to record and mix music, just record and edit narration.
So far, I've been looking at the Echo Mia, the MIDIMan DMAN-PCI, and the
Audiophile 24/96.
Any advice/info would be most appreciated.
Thanks,
Waylena
