Everything is more geared towards MIDI editor and librarian type functions, but has software of every kind going back to 1980's DOS programs for older devices. Currently preparing to install Linux Ubuntu studio (just for fun). :)

That's mostly it, but now and then a find stuff I forgot I had. :D

list

Im am not a professional. I am not a "gear" collector. If i had the money all id buy is old 50s tube limiters and compressors and Ampex 350s and have them all refurbished. But until then...

Tascam 244
Tascam 38
Technics cassette player
M30 mixer
Tapco spring reverb
Roland Space Echo (150)
Boss Phaser
Roberts tube preamps from a reel to reel

Shiny Box ribbon mic (high output one)
Koss Pro4aa headphones
some cd burner
50s spinet piano
Vox Phantom 12 copy (phantomguitarworks.com)
70s Fender Mustang
00s Fender Mustang Bass
1970 Gibson Acoustic
60s Harmony Acoustic
tube Wurlitzer organ
Casio Keyboard (surprisingly more useful than any of this other stuff)
small 60s drumkit
student model Sitar
bell kit
oh yeah and an early 70s Fender Super Reverb

Whats strange is from my list you can hardly tell what kind of equipment history ive had. I used to be into guitar effects heavily and i bought alot of old weird stuff. There was a time when i owned about 25 vintage pedals that i would sell in rotation to keep new things coming in. Some of the things i had included a Mutron Biphase, Digitech Whammy 1, original EH PolyPhase, Boss VB2 Vibrato, and tons of others. But i got into the Kinks and ditched all my effects so i would have to learn songwriting. There was also a time when i was into old keyboards as well and i owned a few different Vox and Farfisa organs and a few Rhodes pianos. I bought a Clavioline once but it broke.

Ah the glory days of living at home with parents and spending all money on colorful noisemakers, always feeling that the next one will be the one to put your setup "over the top".

...the PC under the desk is acting as honorary mellotron. Rather than use a conventional softsynth I wrote my own that runs under DOS and boots from CF, so it can be turned on and off like an appliance as opposed to a more normal computer installation which would quickly become corrupted. It uses the official mellotron sample CD as the sound source.

Thanks for all the replies, guys! Fascinating stuff and kudos, Jeff, for the great picts of your studio! :)

I am very bipolar in that I like the ease of my Tascam 2488 'In-The-Box' solution, but I absolutely love the sound of analog, so the 'analog end' is:

DECK:
Studer 807Mk2. 1/4-inch, 2-track w. 30IPS option.
Dolby 363 A-type 2-ch. noise reduction if wanted.

PREAMP:
4-pack of Sytek MPX-4A pres.

MICS:
Neumann SM69 Stereo Mic (biggest, sickest impulse buy of my life, but what an incredible mic :) )
Neumann M147 Tube Condenser Mic.
Neumann 184 Mics (2)
Marshall MX67 Condenser Mics (2)
Shure 57
Shure 58

INSTRUMENTS:
Yamaha P80 digital piano.
Casio 7000 tacky mid-80es keyboard.
Yamaha G55 old classical guitar.
Yamaha Acoustic/Electric guitar.
Fender P-Bass w. small Hartke cab.
Zoom 234 drum machine.
Ludwig snare drum (old model gotten cheaply. I ain't a drummer, but it helps out on brushed snare, which the machine can't do.)

Everything through a Furman conditioner.

Best,
C.

This is a bit off-topic, but has anyone else noticed that Radio Shack PZM mics are actually really good for the price? A friend picked one up a while back and I was completely shocked at the depth and clarity of its sound through a good preamp.
