These are the parts i'm lookin at so far i just wanna know wether there are parts that need improving or parts which may conflict with other

AMD Athlon xp (dont know what speed yet)
Via Appollo Kt266a
384 RAM (any sugestions at what type of ram would be sufficient)
40 gig Maxtor Diamond Hard drive
40 Gig ibm 7200 hard drive
Midiman Audiphile 24/96 soundcard
Yamaha CR13200E 24X/10X/40X CD WRITER

IF u dont already know my needs, i'll tell u
I'm recording my beats on the comp and recording em to my vs-880ex.
and if i wanna burn em i'll be recordin em through the vs-880ex to the pc

do u think theres something i should be changin with the set up of the comp?

Thanks guys for all ur help so far it is well appreciated

p.s.
the reason i've chosen to keep the vs-880ex is i'm used to recordin on it and i rekon it would be more easier then usin a pc program plus i could only probably grab $1000 aus bucks if i sold it :)

This is just my suggestions,

I would go with a pentium rather than AMD.
I would also install identical hard drives for compatibility issues.
CD burner sounds ok. dont know much about the audio card your getting. However software based recording verses hardware has its advantages. 256 of ram should be sufficient.
Oh, the processor speed should be the fastest you can afford.
Hope this helps.

Get the right chipset and AMD systems are fine - stay away from VIA.

Identical hard drives? LOL....I have yet to find 2 recently-produced IDE hard drives that wouldn't work perfectly together when properly installed.

However software based recording verses hardware has its advantages.

Huh?!?!
