Looking for a dual micpre. Just a hobbist. No demos for gigs or anything like that. Just like to record my own stuff and some with friends. I have 2 v67 mics and an Art mp single pre. Would like to use both mics together. I would maybe go as high as 300.00 but would be satisfied with 100.00. The M-audio audiobuddy looks good, fits the budget, but would go a little better if anyone can give me some direction.

Thanks,

dtb

I got mine new from 8th Street for $79 and it works great. With a little digging, you may be able to find one a lot cheaper on e-bay. I think you'll be pleased with the results you get from the Audio Buddy. It's a great entry level piece of gear.

I would look for another Tube MP. The V67 sounds much nicer through something dirty like the tube mp than a clean preamp.

You're not talking about my girlfriend, are you?

How dare you call my girl "dirty."

On second thought, I guess she kind of is. :D

ha ha cheeserock

the toob mp that i have is very "warm" sounding. almost dull. i use it for my keyboard to smooth it out and its great for that.

a lot of people like the dmp3 and its made by the same ppls as the audiobuddy but its like 200$.

if you want to record acoustic guitar with 2 mics a dmp3 seems like a good bet cause its supposed to be super clean.

from what i have seen a lot of people have had some noise trouble with the audiobuddy.

good luck!

:p

id get an Audio Buddy and a VTB-1...with the Art, youll have many different flavors.....choices are a great thing to have.....

Gidge, I'm going to ignore everything you say until you bring your old avatar back...

NOT the B&B one, the T&A one...:D

damn, i thought i was on everyone's ignore list already.....:D

thanks folks, for the info. I'm running down an audiobuddy for 40.00 at this time, and if it holds up, then I'll be looking at the other suggestions for a 3rd box of some kind. I kinda like the suggestion of having different flavors that Gidge had.

thanks again,

Gidge, please don't bring back the T&A avatar. We have enough of those as it is.

And, FWIW, that kinda thing makes it impossible for me to pay any attention to what you say in your post anyway, if you know what I mean.

Gidge had to stop posting with that because people wouldnt listen to what he posting, but stareing at his breasts instead.

although there are a range of opinions on the Presonus BlueTube, it has two inputs and has a nice range of tone from overdriven gain to non-toob clean. I have it and the ART MP and they are comperable, maybe the BT is a bit cleaner, found that using the xlr outputs (rather than the 1/4) makes a big diff in clarity. The BT does sometimes "fart out" if the gain balance is off, which is a con compared to the MP which doesn't do this.
