I bought a Behringer Eurorack mixer to use w/ my MR8. The main reason was to boost the vocal signal. What else can I, or SHOULD I do with this mixer? How exactly should I use it? Any tips, techniques or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Plug your mic into your mixer channel 1. Using a stereo ''Y'' cable, come out of your mixers Main Out L and R into the MR8 line input A. Leave your trim knob off on the MR8. Use the channel 1 gain(preamp) and level and the main mix level to adjust your volume. If you have an fx unit, come out of fx send to the input of fx unit and out of fx unit to aux return on mixer. Control the amount of fx with the fx knob on each channel. Hope it helps. Pj

A mixer allows you to have two or more inputs combined into one set of outputs.

I would run the left out to channel A and the right out to channel B of the MR8. Adjust gains on the MR8 and output levels on the Mixer to what you need.

You could then record two or more vocal mics (depending on how many channels your mixer has) and pan the output of each to either channel A or B on the MR8.

Suppose you have a 5 person vocal group, with one lead singer and 4 backup. Pan the lead mix left and the other 4 right. Then you have them separated in the MR8 for later mixdown.

Don't expect to mix down w/ it tho, there are only stereo outs on the MR8 not 8 outs so you still will either mix down on the unit or a PC. I'm now considering options for PC mixing/editing software. I hear here that Ntracks is a good cheap way to start out. Any other ideas?

Thanks!!

Thanks to those who posted...it was all a big help. The mixer helps overcome some of the shortcomings of the MR8.
