Here is my question/story. I bought state of the art effects processor about 15 years ago so you know that it is pretty sad.
I own a Digitech DSP256 with remote and all that usless crap. It was made right before ART really hit the market and got all the press. I like the effects and the adjustability of the perameters, BUT it is dirty. I am talking very degrading to the vocal sound. I never noticed it live but when I went in to a pro studio I had it pointed out to me. Now that I like a much cleaner sound with way less effects The signal distortion really shows up. So, all you guys who know that I mean please help me. I see lexicon units for $400.00 dollars or so but I figure the have sold out like so many companies have. Making crap and selling on name, or for that matter just lending their name. Am I wrong? let me know.

I have an MPX-1 which I think is a great processor. I also have a Behringer Virtualizer (on sale $149) as a back-up and it is not too bad, but it doesn't hold a candle to the MPX-1.

I have been so impressed with Lexicon that I am saving up to get a PCM-81. I compared it to the Eventide and it is so much easier to use.

This is just my opinion.

Thanks

Thanks for the info guys

Anyone eles want to chime in?

The MPX1 is great. I also like the SPX90 (Yamaha). You can find both used for pretty reasonable prices. As far as the Lexicon thing, I would argue much to the opposite of your suggestion. Their newer stuff is amazing at that price point. The MPX100 is hands down a better processor than anything in that price range.

Thanks extremedb.

You just never know these days. Some many companys seem to be moving tward the first time buyer market that whenever I see a classic brand with a new line of inexpensive equipment I have to wonder. I'll go check out your page.
