I definitely hear (or feel) what you're talking about. It's sort of a cool effect for this song (as in wouldn't expect it on anything but maybe hip hop), but it's eating up SOOO much headroom, why don't you just highpass it at 40Hz and call it a day? lol.

dammit, i couldn't hear the subs on the tannoy reveals so i never noticed untill after i was done, and it was all backed up.

Yeah, but if it truly is a subsonic issue, you don't have to remix necessarily. Try just highpassing it first and see if it totally knocks the mix out of whack. It's pretty prominent, so it might, but I think you can work with the stereo mix you have. A combination of a highpass filter and some careful multiband tweaking should give you what you want, I think?
