OH Placement for Hybrid Left handed drummer

The drummer I'm recording plays "open left handed" meaning it's basically a right handed setup, except the hat is farther out (to his left) and the ride cymbal is in between the hat and the rack tom. Pretty much above the (only) rack tom is a 16" crash and then on the right hand side is the usual floor tom. Above and to the outside of the floor tom is a china/splash, and then rotating back towards the rack tom is a 14" crash. That's it. I'm using a Beta 57 on snare, SM-57's on toms, D112 in Kik SP C1 in front of Kik, and for the oh's I'm using a pair of rat 5's. I'm getting a PD good snare sound out of the B-57. Actually, all of the drum mics sound PD good. It's just the cymbals.

Unfortunately, it's not a very symetrical setup. The 3 mic setup (rat-5 directly over the snare and rat-5 over drummer's right shoulder) isn't getting enough ride cymbal. Evenly spaced OH's aligned over he snare favor the 16" crash too much.

So I guess my options are forgetting conventional overheads and think about just cymbal mics and forgetting about snare phase (maybe gate or EQ it out?). Or getting drummer to change his setup?(doubtful).
Anybody ever deal with this?

I could try that. Never done the XY room mics. I know XY gives a stereo image. Sounds like a lot of fun with phasing.
Perfect opportunity for a kid I know to intern.
