No, that means you would have 6 additional 'LINE' input channels. You would need 6 preamps to run mics through them. A microphone needs a preamp to bring it to line level.

Cubase is a very big step up from GarageBand. As is Logic. LE will just give you the opportunity to see if the software works with your particular brain patterns. It is however limited. And free. All of the full DAW's do basically the same thing. Each one fits different people. Trying each is the only real way to know what works for you. Reaper is free to try, pay $60 if you like it. Many here do, and have great results. It just didn't work well for my crazy brain. You decide. :D

Ah ok, that makes sense. I had a feeling I would need to use extra stuff to get it to work that way :D
As for Reaper or Cubase, I don't know. I think at this point I should either get the US800 and check out Cubase, but if it doesn't seem to fit that much, switch over to Reaper. But the computer I'm looking at already has Logic installed, and I'm at least familiar with it and it looks like something that would be more inclined to me.

I was also looking at getting this dude to switch out the Alesis Multimix 8 for the USB 2.0 version so I get full duplex. And if I decide to add extra mics to it I'll pick up a cheap preamp to plug into it. No software though, which is in a way kind of a bummer. My computer is slow, and it wouldn't be worth installing Cubase on it right now. I would probably be better off getting the free trial of Reaper and by then I might get a new computer with Logic.

I'm calling the person today to work this out (in the next hour or so), so any input as what to do would be appreciated :D

Well, things just got a whole lot more frustrating.
I called the guy up a few minutes ago and I told him that I saw a USB 2.0 Alesis multimix 8 mixer on the GC used page.
Well he said he didn't see it, and I went and checked and gave him the item number for the mixers.
Well, even though it was black and looked exactly like the USB 2.0 mixers, it didn't say in the blue print "USB 2.0" on it.
I mean, what is going on here?

Looks like jimmy69 wins, and I'll end up getting the US800.. I really wish I didn't have to spend 40 bucks more for it though. :(

As long as the sale runs to the end of next week (or next 2 weeks) I'll be ok on getting it. I wonder how I can find that out..

I'm not so sure it is going to last that long man. Amazon already ran out. How much money you got now. I can purchase one now, then ship it to you when you have the money, if you would like. Shipping is under $20 insured.

Well, online ordering is unavailable from B&H at the moment. I will go ahead and purchase one when they get back online. I will hold on to it until I hear from you. Even if you decide not to purchase it, I'm sure someone else will take it. :D

And by the way, I do not have a quota, or any relationship with Tascam, other than my success with their interfaces. They should probably be giving me kickbacks tho. I keep waiting for an email. lol! :)

Whoah, whoah, whoah, let me get this straight: Your actually going to hold an interface for me? If thats what you meant, it's like the coolest thing ever! :D

Dang, you should work for Tascam, you're the perfect guy for the job! :)

No biggie man. I understand not having money at the right time. Been there. No skin off my back to help out a fellow drummer. Lord knows we need help. lol!

I will write back when the order is placed. It will have your name on it, waiting for you to PayPal me.

Oh, and if you have problems with kick and snare, I can send you triggered samples of your tracks. It doesn't take but a few minutes for me to run them through SS Trigger. That doesn't mean I will do them free forever tho.....:D

 I- I'm speechless! Thats one of the coolest things someone has done in my music journey!
Thanks so much jimmy! :D

And thanks for the offer on the triggering, if I really need to I'll take you up on that :P hopefully I don't because I don't want to take up your time lol

I owe you one man! ;)
God bless!

It's all good man. I'm always here to help when I can. This place has helped me immensely. Just paying forward. :)

Alrighty then, I actually purchased two of the 800's. Be here by Friday. Just hit me up if the unit is sold out by the time you get cash in order. Otherwise, $20 cheaper to order direct from B&H. No biggie if you don't buy one of the ones I got. Some thrifty shopper will buy them from me eventually. :)

Peace,

Jimmy

Sounds good, thanks Jimmy! :)
