Unpossible!
Ok -
I am currently running a MOTU 828 mkII, and need 8 "utility" pres/converters - mostly for drums. I have my 828 hooked up to studio quality pres, and just can't afford 8 more channels of higher end stuff.
Between the Octane and 896 which has better pre's and converters? The 896 would add an additional 8 outs as well, but I mix ITB right now, so that doesn't matter now, although eventually I'd like a 16 channel summing box. The Octane has ADAT out, but I'd be limited to 48khz (which is what I normally use anyway). The Octane is about half the price, but unless the pre's/converters are better, I'd rather pay for the MOTU.
What do ya think?
