Nuts! Like In Crazy!

That was one of my best dreams ever....

In the dream I was going garage sale-ing with my wife. We stopped at one house that had a wall of Maxell 35-180 mostly unopened for a buck each.

What the hell. Do they know something we dont?
After reading this thread I went down stairs today and got a reel of 35 90 out that came with a recorder I bought and had been used alot for a bunch of songs.
Its been sitting in my basement without a box or anything for atleast 5 years and i dont know how old it was when they used it.
Anyway i will have to admit it didnt sound to bad on my 22-2 and there was no sticky or shedding going on with it. Maybe we are missing the boat by not getting in on some of this tape for our smaller recorders.
 
It's great tape, just not $30.00+ a reel great. It has a mythical status among audiophiles, so it's hard to find at a reasonable price.

I've used it since around 1980 along with Ampex 407 and Scotch 207, which are in the same class. Funny thing though to watch a reel of Maxell go for something like this when the same people let a new reel of Scotch 207 sit at $8.99 with no bids. :confused: They can't know too much.

I have dreams like that when I take benadryl for a cold or something before bed. Only difference, in my dream the walls are lined with naked women, with a reel of tape on each breast. When I reach for a reel my wife slaps my hand and I wake up. :(
