About 50% of the time I punch-in on a track in nuendo 2.2, I get a click or pop at either the beginning or the end of the section I'm punching in to, or even both. It drives me nuts to have to record take after take until I finally get one that doesn't pop, and it causes me to loose momentum sometimes. Can someone please tell me how to fix this? Sorry for posting this in the Cubase forum, but since there isn't one for nuendo and they are so similar I figured I'd give it a shot in here... Thanks.

Crossfade the parts and/or enable snap to zero crossing.

You can also take the new audio and change where it comes in manually to reach a zero crossing. The newest versions of the Steinberg apps even allow you to reclaim audio from a new take form BEFORE you punched in just in case you got in just a hair late.

Cool! Is there any way to get it to crossfade at the punch in and punch out points automatically? Right now I'm highlighting where they join with my mouse & using the key command for the crossfade, which isn't the end of the world, but I'd rather not have to do anything at all and just keep moving on with the track if that's possible. I probably wouldn't mind if I were recording someone else, but when I'm tracking guitars myself it becomes laborious and as I mentioned earlier, I loose momentum. Thanks for your help btw.. you guys rule!

Ok I figured out how to set the default crossfade length which took the mouse out of the process, so this working great now. Thanks again!
