NT3 on acoustic guitar

A little searching found me that most people here devise against using the røde nt3 on an acoustic guitar, but I found that when placing it about 2 inches away from the guitar, facing directly at the hole, I get very good results, a crystal clear recording which really captures the full body of the sound, excellent low end response as well.

What do you guys think?

That would be quite some trick - it's not a normal distance and / or location to be placing a condenser mic...

well I was mainly wondering if other people have tried this, and I wanted to know why people don't like the nt3 on acoustic (everyone always just says its bad for that, but not why)
