I am looking into the RØDE nt1-a for drum overheads. I couldn't find anywhere on the forum that this has been done (well i did once but the link was broken). I am basically wanting a good mic for oh's, acoustics, and vox. I know oh's and the guitar are usually sdc but i was suggested this mic? Has anybody tried this yet? Got a sample of it? I also looked into the at4040. Any thoughts/opinions are going to be most helpful :-D

The Rode Nt5 pair is ideal for drum overheads, and great for acustic guitar. You've probably have good results with vocals to howver the the Nt1a is fantastic for that.

I have been using very cheap yet very good mics from Red5 Audio:

the RV4 pencil mics in their drum set are especially good. Red5 now have a site for US sales.

Perhaps use the RV4 mics and a Rode NT1 would be within your budget

thanks. Well i looked into the nt5's but like i said im looking hopefully to use it for vocals as well. Any more suggestions/opinions??

The 4040 is a great ov. And it would work well for your other needs also.
Its kind of a neutral sounding mic.
