As it is no longer being piddled away chasing off Spammers for the Man maybe the collaboration we never finished would be in order.

Or maybe XLR will return. Stranger things have happened. :D

In the same spirit as the last one except that this one was recorded in MIDI so I have the complete transcription. :)

It's interesting but what are we going to do with it? Replace all of the MIDI parts with real instruments? That we could do, send me the score or the MIDI file.

I was thinking of this track as a template for additional live performances.

Since it already IS a succession of two live [MIDI] performances mixed together, it's someone else's turn.
:laughings::laughings:

My devious plan is to modify the MIDI tracks based on the audio tracks that are submitted and remix the soup. Unless you want to create more MIDI tracks and have me play them back through the SC-88. :D

That's the advantage of creating a track in MIDI!

I have the file in .mid format; All 4000 bytes. PM me with an address.

The midi instruments sound terrible, replace them with an orchestra.
It certainly doesn't lack originality, but I couldn't help asking myself if you're serious while listening to it. But perhaps I have an untrained mind for this kind of sound and it's only hearing cacophony.........

It's more of a click track that shows the other collaborators what the root should be at any point in the piece and the overall rhythm structure.

You think those patches sounded bad- try playing the .mid file through the stock windows synth. :laughings::laughings:

That wasn't even that dissonant . . .

Doc, I dunno it's a fairly full composition already, I don't know what I would add. I would like to see a live orchestration though.

Not trying to be mean, but are you serious? I barely heard any music in that at all. It might be the crappy synth sound, but it just sounded like a jumble of notes.:confused::confused:

Well- yeah, I *am* serious. Don't worry about not understanding it. Thanks for checking it out.

There's no right and wrong there, only what you like. :)

As for the crappy synth sound, I'm not hearing any degradation in the signal quality from the Canvas so I'm guessing it's just your revulsion at the patches chosen. :D

Is your name in the thread title or are you the OP? No? Then beat it.

I think you are a genius, I think it is awesome. Im listening as it plays and no nits from me...good sounds, performance, and composition...

Im now going out to kill my neighbours cat for kicks

The only comment I can make is check the low end - it might be too strong. Sounded pretty strong on headphones.

What a colossal douche.

If this was only intended for you and doc then use PMs. This is what the clinic is for, but you wouldn't know that as you are not a worthwhile contributor to this forum, unlike the person you're telling to beat it.

Yeah, I guess I just don't really have an ear for it. I listened to it again. There are some cool lines in there, but together it just sounds kind of off to me. And yes, I was talking about the synth sound, not the quality. :p

If you plan on using an orchestra, percussion, or some other stuff, I'd like to hear that one as well. I think I might just be missing something :p

No, I only judged three or four of the public mix contests, and created the Rumble! series singlehandedly, but apparently your memory isn't that long :p

Yet you have an aversion to being judged?

Sheesh, miss, is this your real personality revealing itself after resigning as a mod? Nice.

Yet you have an aversion to being judged?

Reread the thread, there was almost no constructive criticism here. Other than the comment to reorchestrate, it was all "that music sucks" or "those patches suck". That is not what this board *used* to be about. It *certainly* was not what the public mix contests were about. I guess you never saw those either.

And the Rumbles! were totally non-judgmental. If you had ever participated in one, you would know that. They were just a lot of fun.

Finally, I am not being judged here because this isn't my music. I dig it though. If your ears can't stand it, then keep your mouth shut. Didn't your mommy teach you that?

Note that doc didn't even asked for judgment, unlike a PMC which entrants knew would be scored (and there were prizes). Didn't stop a gang of yahoos from running their mouths though, did it?

I think what you are seeing is the real personality of the BBS. If this board has degenerated into sniping at music you don't understand, so be it. You know, the last Rumble! generated only two entries, vs. over a dozen for the first. Looking at the state of this board now, I wonder if another Rumble! would get more than one.

See ya . . . wouldn't want to be ya . . . :p

the clinic's fine and healthy...too many folks have a problem with Doc in the cave (that place again) to be constructive with anything he posts here..though fact is they probably really thought those patches sucked

I dont...but im not sure what to critique so I was cheeky in a fun way, Im sure doc understands that and knows i wasn't being derogatory

there is no general problem with folks posting music in here...but this is another example of why the cave shouldn't exist imho

sorry for posting this in your thread Doc.....

No one gives a fuck about your stupid rumbles. STFU now.
