This is my first Mp3. It actually has absolutely nothing to do with home recording, sorry. It is just a 4-minute excerpt of me playing in concert. The piece is Prokofiev Sonata, opus 80. http://www.nowhereradio.com/artists/classical/davidk/

It was made with an el-cheapo tape recorder, so the sound quality sucks, sorry, but the performance is pretty decent.
If you can download it, that would be great, sounds much better that way. Thanks for checking it out.

hmmm...drums need to come up a tad. Lead guitar sounds pretty good..so do the vocals. The bass guitar really needs some bottom to it. I would add mabey a "violin" to it, could spice it up a bit who knows. Pretty good work...

 :D ..great stuff DavidK, man I still can't get over you playing with "YES"...I aint worthy...

That was beautiful....two questions though:

1) Who accompanied you on piano?

2) Where can I get one of those "el-cheapo" tape recorders:D ?

Now I know why you get those high profile gigs!

I love it !!

WOW .. DAvid .. I love the classics !!!

the piano is awesome .. and the violin is perfect !

did anyone miss me ??

I have been gone a few days . My kids just got home from summer at their dads ... we have been clothes shopping and school supplies .. ughzzz

we got out mixing board today ... it is a Soundtech Quantum Mix ST1202 .. I am excited about learning to use it .. lol.. which should be fun since I know nothing about it ..

Thanks a lot, David and Mac2. I was getting a bit depressed to be totally ignored, when "HUMP" is doing fairly well!!

The pianist is a composer named Barbara Jazwinski, Polish. She is more of a composer than a pianist, but I enjoyed working with her, we did lots of recitals together.

The concert was on the radio. I literally taped it off the radio with a tape deck I bought at Walmart, and I had to hold my hand on the antenna to make it not fade out. Thanks to both for listening.

Awesome performance. Beautiful piece. What else can I say?

That transition from pizz to bow sounded like two players. Nice chops.

Yeah DavidK - "decent performance". Like saying Hump is just a "little irritating".

That was great. I'm impressed with the way you seem to embrace and respect all musical forms. I've always had this idea that classically trained musicians looked down on rock, blues, etc. Shame on me.

Unfortunately you've inspired me to consider breaking out my bow and resin - I used to do the Page thing for kicks (bowing an electric guitar for droning effect) - perhaps it's time to record something.....

(DavidK cringes....)

Wow DavidK! That was spectacular! I know nothing about the classics but i have always loved bands like Yes, Kansas, ELO, and The Moody Blues. Anyway, you should be very proud; you are a very gifted person. I am trying to imagine turning on the radio and recording myself playing something like that. Your pianist Ms. Jazwinski plays beautifully too! I have always had a great love for the piano.

Hi lanac, i did wonder where you had gone. Welcome back. :)

Langleyt: Yes, Kansas, ELO, Moody blues- I have played with all of them, but for me YES was in a different league musically. It seems like all those bands are like a nostalgia tour, but I found YES to be still musically strong and really into it, where as the others seem like they are just going through the motions.

Thanx for listening, I will post more of my goofy tunes soon.

David, what in the hell are you doing in Ohio?

Wouldn't it be nice to be in Chicago with a delicious deep-dish pizza and in ice cold beer while recording in my vocal booth with my brand new Rode NTK?
Don't make me beg ya, man! :)

That was absolutely amazing!
What a phenomenal performance.... beautiful.
I can't see why you're not playing for the CSO or some other well-known symphony orchestra.

Seriously, we need to get something together and put you in front of a mic over here. We're working on something right now that would sound terrific with your incredible talent.

You mentioned that you would like to play on "Nothing But Candlelight". If you're serious about that, consider it a done deal.

Once again.... great job, bro!
