novice question

I just got this software (Adobe Audition) and seem to have a problem understanding how to do the following:

Recorded a rythm track on tracks 1,2, When I play the track, the times starts before the music does and continues after it ends. So when I loop, it has dead time.

How do I get rid of the dead air in front and behind the recorded waveform?

there are probably a hundred ways to do this...I will give you a couple.

1) double click on the wav form and go into the edit mode, from there you can highlight and delete the silence.

2) from the multi track view you can select only the portion you want to play, again, just by highlighting it with your mouse. From here you can also do a mixdown of the selection.

This is the way. You can also use the beat finding mode, or a sample calculator to make sure your loop is the right length
