I used my Audio technica 3035 for some vocals the other day and...:( :( ...shit...my ESs sound like they've been "taken off" with a de-esser....but this is on a dry vocal track....no effects, no de-esser...no nothing...dry like gun-powder....is something wrong with the mic...or am I just hearing things.... I used it before it had "all the sparks in the world" but it sounds fucked now (actually only the sibilant sounds are stuffed)...does anyone have this mic, and maybe (God forbid) had the same problem...
thanks

I have a AT3035, no problems with Esses' here.. Shit even with my de-esser on I STILL get esses...

Roker, you might try swapping mic cables if you already haven't tried that, and check all your connections. I had a similar problem the other day and was contemplating taking a hammer to one of my gt mics until I figured out It was a cable that was on it's way out.

Good luck

strmkr: I'm pretty sure the cables are ok, besides if they were faulty it wouldn't be only ESSs that don't sound right.
I actually havent tried singing anything into it, since this happened, so I'll go back and try another song or something to make sure the mic is stuffed:D :D
thanks for the posts guys

Perhaps you sang into the rear side of the mic? No offense, things like that do happen, you know.

how long have you had the 32? If you are somewhat new to recording, you might be in for a pat on the back...Sometimes, and sometimes almost overnite, as you get more experience with a piece of gear, the sound seems to change on you from once WOW to hmmm..

:)
Rossi....hehe...good one....no mate....I didn't do that..but thanks anyway..

P.S. Maybe my ears aren't that good but good enough to notice that sort of a difference, for sure:) :)
