Different guitars may produce different results

I read someplace that any improvements noticed may depend on the quality of the guitar. A higher end guitar may produce more noticable difference. Just a thought.

Tastes vary, depends

I have on a few electrics & one acoustic.

Brass gives a trebly, bright sound, great for Country or "chickn' pickin'"
Plastic gives a duller, more muted tone, less sustain, too (to my ears)
Bone is right in the middle of the two, perfect balance...
But not as bold as...
Graphite, which helps keep friction to a minimum, and can also be a little brighter than bone. (now we're nit-picking)

Some of the newer formulations of plastic (immitation bone) actually sound much like bone. But on older guitars, it's usually not the case.

My opinion?
Just don't get a brass nut. Whatever you do!
You'll be OK otherwise.
;)

What is quite amusing is the FACT that at present two people agree with you and one of them joined here the day the poll was posted, the other is you.

There are still more people who don't AGREE and the guys that you call my "lynching mob" haven't even bothered to vote.:D

How are we going to interpret that data VP.

Agreed, that's proof enough for everyone.

Abandon three thousand years of scientific investigation everyone, VP has two lovely Martin guitars.

These people seem to think that it makes a big difference. It appears that they have proven it in a laboratory. If they could not substantiate their claims I'm sure someone would have sued them by now. I have no opinion either way but I've read a fair amount of info that contradicts what Muttley is telling everyone.
